Update for the 2020 Season

We received notice today from Baseball Manitoba that the season has been suspended until May 30 at this point.

Portage Minor Baseball Association has made the decision to cancel the 2020 season for 7U (rally cap) and 9U (rookie). This was a hard decision to make but the maximum length of a season for these age groups would be 3 weeks and we don't have a guarantee that we will be starting May 30.

This pandemic has created more issues for people than just the loss of a ball season for young kids. We understand that this decision may be disappointing for some families but we are doing this so that next year we can have a full season.

Refunds will be issued, however we do need to figure out the logistics of that AND we are a volunteer board, many of whom are still working so please be patient and understanding.

All that being said, 11U and older are NOT cancelled at this time. We are hopeful some form of a season will be played for them as there are still provincials, Westerns, Nationals and AAA scheduled at this point. We will keep the membership updated as we receive information.

We hope you all still get out and throw the ball around, take batting practice and run the bases. Practice social distancing, stay home as much as you can and wash those hands. We are all working toward the same goal of returning to some form of normal life. Hang in there and cross your fingers that the 11U and older kids can play some ball this season.
